When the Environmental Respect Awards were launched in 1990, retailers were invited to “walk across the road and see their business as others see it.” Since then, more than 5,000 ag retail supply businesses in 25 countries have made this journey and participated in the effort. Of those 5,000, only 142 have been selected as regional or national winners from the United States. These businesses were chosen as the best in their field at preserving and protecting the environment in service to their farmer customers.

But we don't want you to stop there! 
 
Past U.S. regional and national winners now have an opportunity to show their continued commitment to environmental stewardship through the Spirit of Respect Award. The award will honor past regional and national winners only for their energy and enthusiasm toward environmental initiatives, and the sustainability of their stewardship commitment over time.

It is the mission of the Environmental Respect Awards to honor fertilizer and ag chemical retailers for preserving and protecting the environment and to encourage others to step up to the challenge and to share the good news about agriculture. It is with this spirit that the award was developed. It is your opportunity as a leading ag supply business to show your customers, community and industry that your environmental commitment continues. We want you to join with other ag retailers all across America in saying: We are America’s agricultural retailers. We are environmental respect.
