Washington 2010: Tuesday, July 20

Our international World of Respect country champions were treated to a little bit of Americana Tuesday with a visit to Willard Agri-Service, a cutting-edge retailer in Lynch, MD. The Willard businesses are located throughout Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania and service more than 200,000 acres throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Plant Manager Ken Fry took the Environmental Respect international winners through the Lynch plant, and retailers from Malaysia, Indonesia, India, New Zealand, Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica and Venezuela had the opportunity to see some spraying in action. The Willard’s facility in Delaware is the 2010 Environmental Respect Award Winner.

The day continued with a visit to Hill Farm in Rock Hall, MD and a ride through DuPont's Chesapeake Farms facility, 3,300-acres devoted to the demonstration of advanced agricultural practices and wildlife management techniques.

A boat ride from Rock Hall across the Chesapeake to Baltimore Harbor for an Orioles game topped off the night. Does life get any better than this?
