Willard Winners Head to Costa Rica

Trip Journal | Map

Our 2011 World Tour is about to begin! Mike Twining and his wife Jennifer will represent Willard Agri-Service of Greenwood, Delaware, the 2010 National Environmental Respect Award winners, as ambassadors to Costa Rica winners, Almacen Agropecurio El Exito of Pital, San Carlos.

In addition to touring the award-winning retail distribution operation in Costa Rica, the Twinings will also visit the Café Britt coffee plantation, the Chiquita Brands growing and packaging operation and tour 3,000 acres of pineapple fields to find out how that fruit became known as the “Fruit of Kings.” Also: volcanoes, zip-lines and a visit to INBioparque ecological park.

Mike and Jennifer will be joined on the trip by K. Elliott Nowels of CropLife and Farm Chemicals International. All will be posting notes on their adventure here, so be sure to return for the story and the photos – and find out how close Mike got to the volcano (or the zip-line)! The adventure begins Saturday, Feb. 19!
