The Environmental Respect Awards received valuable exposure at the most recent Agricultural Retailers Association Annual Conference and Expo. Held in Palm Desert, California in December. The ERA team manned a booth with promotional material, video of the 2015 Awards Ceremony, and laptops to encourage attendees to register for the Awards program on site. The ERA team engaged with nearly 100 ag retailers in attendance and registered more than 25 on-site.
“I was impressed with how many attendees stopped by the booth to either learn more about the program, to register, or to tell us how much respect they had for the Program,” said Michelle Royal, program coordinator.
Mike Hemman, California-based business unit leader with DuPont Crop Protection, gave a brief talk at the closing general session telling the ag retailers in attendance about the Environmental Respect Awards and why they should enter. He urged them to use the Self-Audit online entry form to spot trouble areas at their facilities and to spot-check key safety, security and environmental-impact areas.
Hemman also talked about the 2015 North American winners and what made their operations stand out at the judging event.
