Knox Farm Bureau Co-op - Oaktown, IN
“No chemical hits the ground, no way shape or form.” That’s how Plant Manager Mark Schutz describes his commitment to keeping his Knox County Farm Bureau Co-op environmentally clean.
Living in an area where the soil is sandy and the water table is shallow means that farmers and dealers need to be extra careful and fully considerate when transporting and using chemicals. They do this through newly constructed total containment and recovery pads and by carefully monitoring field operations and applications.
“I think that the whole respect thing is showing people who know nothing about agriculture that we’re taking steps to protect the water source,” says Schutz.
