Frenchman Valley Farmers Coop - Imperial, NE
In a part of the country where sandy soils leach much of the applied nutrition and require heavy irrigation investments, keeping crops healthy requires a spoon-feeding approach.
Darrell Fellows, crop production division manager at the Nebraska based Frenchman Valley Farmers Cooperative Inc., says that the business of agriculture in western Nebraska has as much to do with the paying close attention to the needs of the environment as it does to the feeding and watering of crops.
“It is important that our community sees us as stewards of the environment,” says Fellows. “We want to give them field by field histories and assist them on the environmental regulations. This will ensure our producers’ futures and our future as well.”
